Grace DeGennaro was born in Rockville Centre, New York. Her paintings and watercolor drawings are informed by the study of ancient uses of pattern, symmetry and iconic symbolism found in traditional forms such as Byzantine mosaics, Navajo weavings and Tantra drawings.  Her work has been included in exhibitions at the Tang Teaching Museum, NY, Heckscher Museum, NY, Kentler International Drawing Space, NY, Visual Arts Center of New Jersey and the Center for Maine Contemporary Art.  She is the recipient of grants from the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ireland, the New England Foundation for the Arts and theMaine Arts Commission. She received an MFA from Columbia University and a BS from Skidmore College. DeGennaro lives and works in Yarmouth, ME.
