HENRY WOLYNIEC

RELIEF

April 5 - May 31, 2019

About the Exhibition

Relief included relief prints, metal and paper sculptures, and a documentary video interview with the artist.

“My work on paper combines relief printing and collage in a seamless display of color and form to invent monotype prints. The piece takes one direction as I am making aesthetic decisions on the press and another direction while imaging with collage. Unlike most printmakers, I do not produce multiples,” said Wolyniec. “Being in the Wolfe Editions print shop is an integral part of my process.”

The wall-mounted sculptures, made of metal wire, paper, and paint, were a new exploration in Wolyniec’s studio practice. He had been working on them for two years and this was the first time they were shown.
